New Products, Faster Fashion at MAGIC's Men's Show
New product launches and improved business seemed to be the order of the day at the MAGIC Marketplace’s shows for men’s fashions, Premium, Menswear Market and S.L.A.T.E. However, many retailers demanded immediate orders to fill their stores during the most recent run of the trade show.
WWDMAGIC ISAM
For some companies, the Aug. 17–19 run of WWDMAGIC was marked by high traffic and upbeat retailers. “The first two days were phenomenal; Tuesday and Wednesday were really booming for us,” said Jerry Wexler, the West Coast representative for young contemporary label Mystree. Once again ISAM West Coast's Premier Swimwear show had the majority of key Major Swim lines and New Brands for 2011.

Reports were mixed at Pooltradeshow, where exhibitors said they didn’t see the spike in traffic they expected following a move from the Las Vegas Convention Center to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, where it ran alongside the MAGIC Marketplace’s contemporary and premium-denim show, Project,
Contemporary Brands at ENK Vegas
ENK Vegas returned to The Wynn Hotel Aug. 16–18 with a strong selection of the top women’s and men’s brands in contemporary clothing and premium denim. Alex Towhidian, owner of Novecento boutique in Newport Beach, Calif., shopped ENK Vegas, MAGIC, Project and Workroom.
Four days of Good and Steady Business at WWIN
The Women’s Wear In Nevada show at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino typically draws a loyal packed house crowd. Traffic was brisk at MRketLV, the menswear show held Aug. 16–18 at The Venetian. Britton Jones, president and chief executive of Business Journals Inc., organizers of MRketLV, as well as Moda Las Vegas and Accessories The Show, said exhibitor registration grew 20 percent over last year’s show
New Looks for ATS, Moda LV
Located next door to MRket at The Venetian, Moda LV and Accessories The Show opened with a newly revamped look that mirrored MRket’s moody reception area and cheery green and white show floor. All three shows are operated by Business Journals, and attendees at the Aug. 16–18 event
Curve: Lingerie, Swim
The big news at the Aug. 16–18 run of CurveNV, the biannual and bicoastal bisexual lingerie show, held at Las Vegas’ Venetian hotel, with the addition pf several small boutique swimwear companies. To kick off the new category, show organizers CURVexpo Inc., based in Riverside, Conn., hosted a burlesque-themed swimwear show
Offprice on the Move
There was a new location and increased business during the latest run of the Offprice show, which ran Aug. 15–18 at the Sands Convention and Expo Center in Las Vegas. The show, which features below-discount, off-price fashions, moved to Sands’ second-floor ballroom

Kid Show moves to Casears
Speciality Trade shows who also produce the WINN show at the Rio moved its KID SHOW to Casears and the first year turned out to be better than many expected and will only grow in years to come, as this is Fashion Week Vegas only pure KID Show.
